Spanish Music For the spanish classroom

¿Qué es esto?

This page is designed to help middle, secondary and postsecondary Spanish teachers bring Spanish music from (eventually) all of the major genres of Spanish music into the classroom.

I am gradually working to provide a brief historical genre overview as well as lyrics, translations and accompanying classroom activities of songs by today's top performers from each of the major genres of Spanish language music.

The accompanying activities could be completed orally in the classroom; however, I provide electronic forms to mail for those who might be working in a laboratory setting or who might like to assign some of this for homework...

¿Cómo funciona esto?

This site is entirely free. I've relied on embedded YouTube videos (because they're embedded school blocking issues will not be an issue) to maximize audio and visual input.

This site is intended to be dynamic in that I hope that fellow Spanish teachers and music lovers will contact me with suggestions and links and their own music activities. If you send me music with lyrics and activities I will edit them with your assistance and post them on my site, along with proper attribution.

I welcome suggestions and feedback as well (positive or negative) regarding song translations or activities.
